Born on January 12, 1957, in Moscow. Education: Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, 1980. After graduating embarked on a diplomatic career at the Soviet Embassy in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. 1986–1987: Attache, Third Secretary of the Socialist European Countries Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. 1992–1993: Second Secretary, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Czechoslovakia. 1993–1997: Head of division, Chief of Division, Deputy Head of Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. 1997–1998: Aide to the President of the Russian Federation. 1998–1999: Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office. Since 1999: Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office, Head of the Presidential Foreign Policy Directorate. Since March 2004 – Aide to the President of the Russian Federation. |
